Financial Controller
Haines or Vancouver Office with Remote Flexibility
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Controller works closely with the Constantine Executive team and reports directly to Vancouver based CFO to manage and analyze project financials, provide detailed cost reports, and recommend cost saving measures. This is a full-time, year-round position supporting the Palmer Project, and is based in our Haines, Alaska or Vancouver, Canada office and/or working remotely.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full cycle accounting operations as well as design, implement and maintain the project’s internal controls framework.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of Palmer Project accounting records, management accounts and financial statements.
- Establish and implement sound accounting and financial controls systems to manage financial risk and optimize project spending.
- Prepare forecasts, budgets, and manage project cashflow.
- Prepare and present regular cost reports to management, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and review actual costs against budgeted costs, identifying and explaining any variances.
- Initiate cash calls to fund the project.
- Develop cost saving measures and process improvements in the interests of efficient capital conservation.
- Assist with month and year end closing processes, including external auditors if needed.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management to support strategic decisionmaking.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS.
- Ensure that project status, issues, and success are communicated to project team, stakeholders, and all levels of management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting; experience in mineral exploration or mining is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting software.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proactive and collaborative attitude, committed to working in a team environment based on respect, trust and accountability in pursuing shared goals.
- Mindset that factors personnel safety, environmental protection, and community commitment into every decision and action.
- Valid driver license with clean driving record.
- All new employees must pass a background check.
- Valid standard first aid certification a plus.

PAY RATE
We offer competitive wages dependent upon experience and qualifications.
LOCATION
This is an office-based position in our Haines or Vancouver office with remote flexibility. Regular travel to the project site may be required.

We are growing our year-round workforce as part of our multi-year plan to bring the Palmer Project to Feasibility. These responsible positions are essential to achieving our goals and are offered competitive compensation packages.
The Project camp and remote work site are located near Haines, Alaska, with company offices in downtown Haines and Vancouver, Canada. The positions below are full-time supporting the Palmer Project with various work locations. Some positions are camp-based during the field season and office-based with remote flexibility in the off-season; others are based in our offices with remote flexibility year-round and regular travel to the project site.
